Super Bowl 57 odds, best bets: Bills and Buccaneers enter 2022 NFL season as clear favorites (2023)

The "chalk" of the NFL Futures odds charts for Super Bowl 57 remains the same as it has been all year. The Buffalo Bills continue to lead the field at +600, while archrival Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers represent the NFC at +750. But there are plenty of strong cheap value bets in the Super Bowl futures space, so it's time to pluck a few elements from the pack.

When it comes to futures betting, the calculation rarely wins: either teams rise from the bottom of the field to reach the Super Bowl and win it all, or the favorites drop so little value that bets don't stack that way they perform well it seems they should. . .

Updated winning odds for Super Bowl LVII

As mentioned earlier, the Bills are currently the favorite to win the Super Bowl at +600, with the Bucs right behind at +750. Those teams were among the top three favorites to win the Super Bowl last season, with the Bucs at +650 and the Bills at +1,200 (the Chiefs topped the odds table at +500 last September). As we now know, none of those three teams have won conference championships.

The team that won it all, the Los Angeles Rams, who may actually have improved since February and now sit third on the Super Bowl 57 odds charts at +1100. They're on par with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, who must make the playoffs without speedy receiver Tyreek Hill and safety Tyrant Mathieu.

Prior to 2021, Kansas City had reached the previous two Super Bowls and had a 1-1 record there. The Chiefs defeated the 49ers 31-10 in Super Bowl 54, but lost to the Bucs a season later in Brady's first year in Tampa. The Bengals, who represented the AFC after a conference championship upset over Kansas City, are down to +1100 to repeat as AFC champions and +2000 to win the Super Bowl. Those high Super Bowl odds put Dallas in the NFC even though the Cowboys are +900 odds to win their conference title.

After the Bills, Bucs, Rams and Chiefs, the four teams that complete the top eight include the Packers (+1,200), Chargers (+1,400), 49ers (+1,600) and Broncos (+1,600). The Broncos are the most notable on the list, coming off an injury-riddled 7-10 season, but have renewed their hopes with perennial Pro Bowl QB Russell Wilson under center. Best odds of all: You guessed it, it's the Texans once again. Houston was +25,000 last year, and since the start of the first week of this season, it has been a solid +30,000.

Super Bowl 57: The best bets

Buffalo Tickets (+600)

The Bills have been my Super Bowl pick all year and have given me no reason to turn against him now. The main reasons Buffalo remains a solid pick: top-to-bottom personnel, year-to-year consistency and continued improvement on both sides of the ball.

Quarterback and early MVP favorite Josh Allen has a great relationship with offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, who was promoted to quarterbacks coach when Brian Dumball was named the Giants' coach. Gabriel Davis and Isaiah McKenzie have shown they are ready to become Allen's No. 2 and No. 3 targets behind All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs, and rookie running back James Cook is a dark horse for Offensive Rookie of the Year selection.

Buffalo also has a strong offensive line and consistently strong defense that Von Miller just added to bolster the pass rush. There are no limits to this Bills team, and with Kansas City taking a step back by losing two key cogs, now could be the perfect time for Sean McDermott's boys to finally break the rut.

Super Bowl 57: Highest Value Bets

Los Angeles Chargers (+1400)

With these attractive odds, we can't get away from the Chargers. For futures betting, if you like the odds on two teams but one adds +300 to your bet, you should go with the team that offers the higher odds.

If quarterback Justin Herbert and the Bolts can stay healthy, they are in a great position for the Super Bowl. Arguably one of the top three tight ends in the NFL, Herbert has playmakers all over the field to light up opposing defenses. Wide receiver Mike Williams showed his game-changing abilities early in the 21st season. Keenan Allen remains one of the most dangerous pass rushers in football. Ausitn Ekeler dominated on the ground and in the air.

Offensively, the Chargers have almost no weaknesses, including a solid offensive line. But the defensive side of the ball should be what really excites Los Angeles fans this season. The Bolts extended great safety Derwin James and signed former Patriots Elite cornerback J.C. Jackson trades with Khalil Mack for the pass rusher. All those guns, plus Joey Bosa!? As Uncle Jesse used to say in the 90s: Mercy!

As far as value bets go, the Chargers are as good as they get at +1400.

San Francisco 49ers (+1600)

There's a lot of value in this area, and we're tempted to feature Russ Wilson and the Broncos, but instead we'll go with the Niners team, which always manages to bring its share of Super Bowl talk. The reason San Francisco always makes noise: defense and the running game. The reason the Niners can finally break the deadlock and win their first Lombardi since 1995: Trey Lance.

Forgive me for exaggerating the sophomore QB hat, but Lance has me dancing with excitement. He has an incredible arm, amazing pocket speed, great vision and the kind of creativity and playmaking ability that can really make a difference in this league. When you combine those talents with a committed core of reigning All-Pro Deebo Samuel, three-time Pro Bowler George Kittle, and Lance favorite (and friend) Brandon Aiyuk, it's easy to find San Francisco at +1600 to fall . love.

Of course, we'll never underestimate Kyle Shanahan's coaching abilities and the Niners' consistently dominant running game. Elijah Mitchell looks healthy in Week 1 which will be huge for this team. We can all expect great things from 2022 third-round pick Tyrion Davis-Price, too: Running backs always make a name for themselves in the Bay Area.

Of course, defense (undoubtedly) still wins championships. We just watched the Rams win it all, helped in a big way by Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey and Von Miller. The Niners boast a young lineup led by EDGE running back Nick Bosa and Fred Warner leads the strongest linebacking corps in professional football. We can easily see that this +1600 looks like a bargain in the blink of an eye.

Super Bowl 57: Best Sleeper

Dallas Cowboys (+2000)

Before you laugh at my column, hear me out. The Cowboys have made great strides over the past two years, thanks in part to some solid picks like Jerry Jones. If Dak Prescott can stay healthy, the Cowboys have as good a chance as anyone to make it all the way.

The biggest departures from recent draft classes: wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and linebacker 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year Micah Parsons. Both guys have game-changing skills and both have the upside to become the best at their positions.

After a relatively difficult start to the season, Dallas is enjoying one of the easier schedules. And with apparent coaching continuity (head coach Mike McCarthy entering his third season, offensive coordinator Kellen Moore in his fourth and D coordinator Dan Quinn returning for his second), we can see that gamble pay off as the boys find finally fame to RETURN .

Super Bowl 57: Best improbable shot

Minnesota Vikings (+4000)

You may scoff at the idea that +4000 is "High Odds," but that's about the odds most rational bettors will bet on the future of the Super Bowl. Here's why I like the Vikings, at least for a $50 share that could make more than $2,000 in five months: Wide receiver Justin Jefferson and Dalvin Cook are two of the NFL's most explosive offensive weapons. , and Minnesota's defense will get a big boost. with a full season of elite EDGE linebackers Danielle Hunter and Za'Darius Smith.
